Sir Alex Ferguson believes Robin van Persie’s three goals for the Netherlands during the international break will help him find top form for Manchester United again.
The 29-year-old Dutchman scored twice against Romania and once against Estonia to help his national side record World Cup qualifying victories.

Van Persie has not scored a goal for United since his strike against Everton back on 10 February and has gone seven games without finding the net.But Ferguson is hopeful that his international treble will help him find his goal-scoring touch again as the domestic season reaches its climax.“[Van Persie scoring] was the most pleasing thing about the break for me actually,” Ferguson told a news conference on Friday ahead of United’s trip to Sunderland on Saturday. “He got the three goals for Holland.

“It’s the same with all strikers. When they hit that little dry spell, they’re hoping to get out of it as quickly as they can.

“Hopefully, those goals for Holland will help him to do that. His form has not changed, that’s the most important thing, but the goals will certainly help and there’s no question about that.”
Van Persie has scored 23 goals in all competitions for United since moving to Old Trafford from Arsenal in a £24m deal last summer.
