Manchester United triple injury boost hits Sunderland hopes
SUNDERLAND’S hopes of getting a result against Manchester United tomorrow have been hit by the news that the champions-elect have had a triple injury boost.
Nani (hamstring), Phil Jones (ankle) and Paul Scholes (knee) have all recovered from their knocks.
All three could be involved at the Stadium of Light as United defend a 15-point lead at the top of the table, with Javier Hernandez and Antonio Valencia most likely to be excused due to their lengthy travels during the international break. With United in action against Chelsea on Monday night in an FA Cup quarter-final replay, Sir Alex Ferguson could field a weakened team tomorrow, but Sunderland boss Martin O’Neill has admitted that whatever side the Red Devils put out, it will be packed with internationals.
Man United team (from): De Gea, Lindegaard, Amos, Rafael, Smalling, Jones, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evans, Evra, Buttner, Giggs, Valencia, Scholes, Carrick, Cleverley, Anderson, Young, Kagawa, Nani, Welbeck, Rooney, Hernandez, Van Persie.
