Ondo
State Governor Olusegun Mimiko has said the ongoing verification for
primary school teachers in the state is not to reduce their workforce.Mimiko, in a statement on Wednesday by
his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Eni Akinsola, stated this when he visited
one of the verification centres at St. Peter’s Demonstration Primary
School in Akure on Tuesday.
The governor said the exercise, which
involves other workers in the public service was to restore sanity and
dignity in the state.He explained that the state through the exercise would detect ghost workers and those illegally recruited in the system.He added that the exercise would facilitate the continued and prompt payment of workers’ salaries.
He said, “I want to let you know that
this exercise is not to retrench workers. We promised you during our
campaign that we will not sack any worker in the state.
