More than 150 parents caught on Tuesday using their children to beg for alms in major towns in Anambra State

More than 150 parents caught on Tuesday using their children to beg for alms in major towns in Anambra State would be tried in the family court.

About 185 beggars and destitutes taken off the major cities of the state will also undergo rehabilitation. Those not from Anambra will be repatriated in an arrangement with their respective state government through the Ministries of Women Affairs and Social Development.

Director of Social Welfare in the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs. Rose Udeagbara, announced this during the 2014 beggars and destitute raid.
