Boko Haram insurgence alien to Islam

A Nigerian Islamic organisation, Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society, has condemned the activities of the violent Boko Haram sect.

In a statement issued on Friday by its President, Alhaji Sheriff Yussuf and and General Secretary, Mr. Lukmon Folorunsho, NASFAT said that the attacks carried out by members of the violent sect were alien to the teachings and injunction of the Qu’ran.

The organisation, however, declared Sunday as a special day for fasting and prayer against the security challenges confronting the country.

NASFAT asked all its zones and branches at home and abroad to seek God’s intervention in all the challenges confronting the country.
