         Nineteen-yr-old student wins car


A 19-year-old year one Ordinary National Diploma student of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Temidayo Omoniyi, has emerged winner in the music talent hunt organised by telecoms service provider, Airtel, during its One Mic Campus Tour of Abeokuta which held recently.

A statement made available to our correspondent by Airtel on Thursday, said the show, which commenced in Ogun State on May 5, 2014, was aimed at discovering and promoting musical talents in tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

Omoniyi, also known as Zlatan Ibile, won the star prize, a brand new KIA Picanto and a full artiste makeover and recording deal with ID Cabasa’s Coded Tunes record label, having defeated five other finalists to emerge winner.

The contest, which featured a stage performance and other competitions among the contestants had music producer, ID Cabasa; rapper and singer, Reminisce and DJ Jamalot as judges.

Airtel’s Regional Operations Director, Lagos, Mr. Femi Oshinlaja, said, “We have remained committed to our goal of seeking opportunities to promote youth empowerment and development, so, Airtel One Mic is a unique platform for the youths to showcase their talents.”
