Juventus Confirm Vidal Is Staying

Arturo Vidal’s move to Manchester United is off after Juventus confirmed their star midfielder is going nowhere this summer.

The Chile international, who impressed during the World Cup this summer, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in the past month, with Louis Van Gaal making the 27-year-old his top priority in the transfer window.

But now, according to the Daily Star, Juventus’ chief executive officer Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed that the box-to-box midfielder will be remaining in Turin for the upcoming season.

Vidal has been in sensational form for his club during the past three seasons, and has attracted the interest of some of Europe’s leading clubs.

Vidal’s availability was said to rest on the future of his team-mate Paul Pogba, who has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League.

But, with Juventus confirming he will stay at the unveiling of Massimiliano Allegri as their new manager, it now looks as if Van Gaal will have to turn his attentions elsewhere.
