High Level Function and Role Overview
The purpose of the North American ERP team within Software Shared Services is to provide expert advice and solutions consulting to the North American Business supported by our SAP platform. The North American team is a customer facing group which partners with our customers to fulfill business demand for new solutions, delivery of projects, and acts as liaison to our technical teams, so that high quality, reliable system solutions are delivered in a timely fashion. The Associate Project / Programme Manager leads small project teams or supports larger projects / programmes from initiation to close, to deliver or support delivery of effective solutions that meet approved customer and business needs. The role can support any stage in the project lifecycle and is accountable for specific activities assigned in larger projects and/ programmes. This role is also required to follow established project management standards and identify possible project management capability areas for improvement.
Key Accountabilities
The role holder will demonstrate tangible and measurable impact through solid execution that delivers the intended business impact, as follows:
  • For small projects, manage changes to scope, ensuring that all impacts and changes are approved and appropriately communicated to stakeholders and review boards. Responsible for organizing steering / stakeholder meetings, communication of status, issues, and risks.
  • Agree plans for a small project or subset of a project/programme, including activities, resources, costs, roles, responsibilities and quality as defined in the IT Project Management Methodology (IT PDM).
  • Assist with managing large project / programme budgets, forecasts, tasks, schedules, risks, change management, and status to support effective decisions and project reporting to stakeholders and review boards.
  • For small projects, manage relationships with business stakeholders to ensure effective capturing of requirements and commitment to project objectives.
  • Identify and assist with effective risk & issue management. Escalate risks and issues as appropriate.
  • Ensure the project team adheres to all agreed standards as deemed necessary by the risk profile, including IT PDM, quality, and compliance, as well as processes, defined technical capabilities, and best practices.
  • Support continued development of the project management capabilities and ensure that best practice is adopted and reinforced.
  • Work collaboratively with Supplier Management function to onboard supplier resources, process and maintain Statements of Work , and in the case of small projects provide oversight of the vendor doing the delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with Suppliers and IT colleagues across geographies to ensure delivery of agreed products and services deemed essential to the success of the project, while ensuring adherence to AZ delivery standards
Key Responsibilities
Service Transition: Provide Functional Support for all approved Change Requests, System Enhancements , and system maintenance and upgrades.
Change
  • Lead and/or support delivery of system change requests (CRs): base business, break-fix, and enhancements.
  • Identify and coordinate resolution of cross functional and cross process impacts.
  • Assure proper solutioning, cross functional and systems impact assessments, identification and allocation of resources, and that changes are being delivered as per business expectations and commitments of timing, effort, and quality.
  • Coordinate cross functional and cross process CR delivery work streams
Release and deployment
  • Work with the Service Providers to build and execute a delivery plan.
  • Assure integration of solution across technical areas, tools and capabilities. Also may include multiple service providers and business partners.
Transition planning and support
  • Assist in training plan development and training, support for users, and developing user documentation (i.e. job aids, keyboard procedures, reference guides, etc.).
Service validation and testing
  • Facilitate creation of comprehensive test plan including Integration and Regression Scenarios. Participates in QA process .
  • Review and signoff on Unit test and systems integration tests.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for all background changes.
  • Coordination, management and update of Quality test environment to support end user testing.
  • Execute or support service transitions: cutover, production validations, etc.

Required Experience/Education
  • Technical or Business degree preferred
  • Demonstrated communications skills (both written and verbal) interacting with others
  • Project Management certifications preferred
  • Good organization skills and an attention to detail
  • Understanding of quality and compliance
  • Aptitude for quickly learning new technologies and tools
  • Experience working in global organization and across cultural boundaries
