Real Madrid have moved swiftly to complete the £24m signing of Toni Kroos from Bayern Munich.
The German side have confirmed that an agreement has been made between the two sides and the World Cup winner will sign a six-year deal at the Bernabeu, according to the Daily Mail.
The midfielder was in brilliant form during this summer’s tournament in Brazil, scoring twice in Germany’s emphatic 7-1 victory over the host nation in the semi-final.
Manchester United and Chelsea were rumoured to have shown a keen interest in the playmaker, but Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has pushed through the deal to fend off interest from the English duo.
The 24-year-old star, who won an impressive three Bundesliga titles in four seasons with Bayern, is now set to undergo a medical in Spain.
Kroos also helped the German champions to three DFB-Pokals and a Champions League title before going on to win the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
He will now become the latest star name to move to Real, and will link up with fellow German team-mate Sami Khedira, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal.
