Liverpool are understood to be on the verge of completing deals for Spanish full-backs Alberto Moreno and Javi Manquillo.
Left-back Moreno, aged 22, was on the verge of signing for the Reds in June, but the deal collapsed when they failed to agree a fee with his current club Sevilla.
But the transfer could now be back on, with Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre reportedly flying to Spain to complete the deal.
It appears the Reds have backed down and agreed to pay the £20m Sevilla were demanding all along after they missed out on alternative target Ryan Bertrand, of Chelsea.
Ayre is also hoping to tie up a deal for Atletico Madrid’s Javi Manquillo while in Spain, claims the Daily Mail.
He could move to Anfield on a two-year loan deal, with Liverpool also having the option to convert that into a £6m permanent deal for the 20-year-old.
Manager Brendan Rodgers has been keen to strengthen in his full-back department – particularly left-back, which was understaffed last season – so the double Spanish deal would be a big boost for him.
