Beating Algeria in the hands of Super Eagles

The Nigeria Football Federation Technical Committee, has declared that all ground works and logistics needed by the coach Gernot Rohr led Super Eagles to succeed in next month make or mar 2018 World Cup qualifier showdown between the Super Eagles and the Les Fennecs of Algeria, billed to hold in Uyo Akwa Ibom State, have been Concluded.

Speaking with The Guardian yesterday, member of the Technical Committee, Christian Chukwu, stated that the teams quest to secure maximum three points in the encounter, now depends on players commitment and doggedness to fly over their opponent at home.

He explained that the Committee have settled all grey areas that might hinder the Eagles from coming out victorious in the encounter.


The former Super Eagles coach, stated that in the past few days the committee have been carrying out serious of investigations to correct any form of anomalies that would affect the players from giving their best in the qualifier.

Chukwu also submitted that based on the importance of the tie, the Eagles would get the best assistance needed to beat the visitors, saying that all hands are on deck to make Nigeria be in Russia 2018 World Cup . The former Harambee stars of Kenya manager, added that Rohr has assured that all the invited players for the cracker, would be given a level playing ground to fight for a place in the team.

“ The Technical Committee have finished all necessary arrangements to ensure the Eagles beat Algeria in Uyo. I think the focus should be placed on the players now to paly their own part by wining the game. At this point all irregularities that might hinder the success of the team have been settled. In the area of selecting players for the game, the Committee has also given their own advice to the coaches. All issues that will arise ahead of the game have been settled,’’ he said.

Meanwhile Algeria will have their third coach in a year-just like the Super Eagles when the second group game of the 2018 World Cup qualifier kicks off in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State next month. Algeria still have not settled for a coach just barely two weeks to the encounter.
