Arsene Wenger sympathises with Liverpool over their battle to keep Philippe Coutinho.
Barcelona have courted Coutinho throughout the summer, having three bids rejected, with the player submitting a transfer request.
The Brazilian is unlikely to feature when Liverpool face Arsenal on Sunday, and has not played at all for the club so far this season.
Speaking on Thursday, Wenger expressed sympathy for the situation, which is understandable considering he is facing similar with Alexis Sanchez.
“Every situation is different. I don’t know what is happening between Liverpool and Coutinho,” Wenger said.
“I don’t know where he stands with them or where they stand with him.
“It’s always difficult because you want your players to be happy. In general you want the players to stay with their club when they have contracts.”
