Tiger's Fake-Out

Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn publicly announced their relationship recently. Is it a true love match or a publicity stunt?

Tiger Woods is trying to rehab his image from crazed sex fiend to nice normal guy by dating Lindsey Vonn, claims a source close to the couple.
The athletic pair confirmed their relationship via social media and released cozy photos to the press, with the New York Times calling the coupling "a match made for SportsCenter."

However, a source told the New York Post the pairing is more like "a match made in marketing heaven."

"It immediately makes him more sympathetic, and makes Vonn a household name as she reaches a crucial point in her skiing career, the 2014 Winter Olympics," the source told the paper. "They know the sponsors are watching."

Calling the coupling "a carefully crafted PR move," another source cast further doubt on the relationship, saying, "Tiger had always hoped to win Elin back, so this is an unusual move."

Elin Nordegren recently began dating her uber-rich neighbor Chris Cline, who lives next door to the multimillion-dollar estate she purchased with part of her reported $100 million divorce settlement.
But Woods insists he and Vonn are just like any other couple. In his Facebook announcement he said, "Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating. We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes.
