Arsenal are reportedly set to make a new offer for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender before the end of next week.
Bender has strongly been linked with a switch to Arsenal in the last two transfer windows, following a string of impressive displays in the Bundesliga.
The Gunners had a £15m bid rejected last summer, but reports in Germany say they are planning to make a new one in the coming days.
Leverkusen are under no pressure to sell but Arsenal believe a bid of about £21m should be enough to convince them to sell.
Le Sport 10 reports that Bender, who only signed a new contract with the club in October 2013, is ready to leave German football and is keen on a switch to the Emirates Stadium.
