What Could Happen When Manchester United Face West Brom

Manchester United face West Brom at the Hawthorns this Sunday in what promises to be a great encounter in the Barclays Premier League. This is a very important game from LVG’s perspective as Spurs face Arsenal at White Hart Lane and someone is guaranteed to drop points and a win would be a huge turning point in the race for top-4.
West Brom though, will be a tough opposition especially at the Hawthorns which has been a tough ground for any top team to go to.
United will be confident going into this one as they have recorded 4 wins on the trot and have won their last two Premier League games, against Arsenal and Watford.
Tony Pulis’ side too have been in good form of late as they have beaten Crystal Palace and drew with League leaders Leicester City at the King Power.
With quite some players returning from injury, it will be interesting to see if van Gaal goes with the same squad he went with in the past few games or if he changes things up to play the more experienced guy.
If Results go their way United could be right back in the title race with a win here. The Red Devils are 10 points off Leicester City and could well be only 7 points behind if results go their way like they did in the midweek fixtures.
Leicester City do have a very tough game away to Watford at the Vicarage Road and they could well drop two or eve three points there. Tottenham play Arsenal so there’s a big chance either Spurs or Arsenal will lose three points over United provided United win their game.
It will also be interesting if Louis Van Gaal will give another game to Fosu-Mensah and Varela considering the fact that Chris Smalling, Matteo Darmian et al. are all back from injury. The youngsters have been playing constantly for the past 3 weeks and might need a rest.
We should also look forward to how Memphis, Martial and Mata play in this game as they have all been in good form of late. If they can combine well with each other like they are doing right now, West Brom could be in for a long day.
One more thing to look forward to is the midfield battle between Herrera- Schneiderlin and Gardner-Fletcher. Schneiderlin has been in amazing form lately as he has been winning a lot of tackles and making important interceptions. He’s also liking playing with Herrera who’s full of energy and his box-to-box play has been appreciated by his teammates.
All in all, this should be a great game of football between two sides who could go all the way to win this game. United stand more to gain with a win that West Brom and this could mean United will be more hungry to get the win.
